Millikin University men's golfers Alex Koulos '16, from Naperville, Ill., and Cole Sondgeroth, a senior from Bloomington, Ill., were named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars for 2015-16 by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
To earn the All-America Scholar honors a golfer must be of junior or senior standing, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 79 and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Koulos recently completed his Millikin career graduating with a degree in accounting. This is the second time Koulos has been named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar. Koulos earned College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Academic All-Conference honors four times during his career. He had a season stroke average of 75.6 in 2015-16. He ended his Big Blue career ranked sixth all-time at Millikin in career scoring average at 76.34.
Sondgeroth completed his junior season majoring in sports management. In 2015-16, he had a 76.82 scoring average and earned CCIW Academic All-Conference honors for the third time.
