Millikin alum wins "The Biggest Loser"

Millikin University graduate Roberto Hernandez '02 won the Season 17 title of "The Biggest Loser" and the show's $250,000 prize. The Cicero, Ill., physical education teacher lost 160 pounds shedding about 46 percent of his initial weight of 348 pounds.

Roberto's twin brother, Luis, also a 2002 Millikin graduate, walked away a winner from the show. Luis, who was eliminated from the show in the Feb. 1 episode, lost 139 pounds, more than any other eliminated contestant, to win the show's $100,000 at-home prize.

The brothers grew up in Cicero, Ill., played football, and studied exercise science while attending Millikin. After graduating from Millikin, Roberto and Luis continued their education earning their master's degrees in school administration from Governors State University in University Park, Ill.
