Ian Liberto, a 2005 Millikin University theatre graduate, has been cast in the forthcoming Broadway revival of the blockbuster 1964 musical "Hello, Dolly!" featuring Bette Midler.
Midler will be joined by David Hyde Pierce in the revival that will begin Broadway previews on March 15, 2017, and open April 20 at the Shubert Theatre.
"Hello, Dolly!" will be Liberto's fifth Broadway show, including "A Chorus Line,""Billy Elliot" and "How to Succeed in Business." Upon graduating from Millikin, Liberto immediately found himself working in the industry and has experience in a variety of national tours as well as appearances at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center Honors and The Tony Awards.
Liberto previously toured with "Evita," and found his passion for dance while at Millikin. He also discovered his strength for dance via a scholarship to Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago.
Since 2008, Liberto has been sharing his knowledge with Broadway Connection students and notes that show business is not for the faint of heart, and he advises all dancers to, "trust your teachers, they will guide you."
