Millikin Halloween in the HallsMillikin University's Student Housing Council (SHC) hosted its annual Halloween in the Halls event on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 12 – 4 p.m. starting in Lower Richards Treat University Center (LRTUC) on Millikin's campus.

Halloween in the Halls provides a safe, family-friendly environment for youngsters from the local community to go trick-or-treating on the campus of Millikin University via a guided tour through campus.

This year, Student Housing Council partnered with members of Dennis Lab School to decorate a space for show during the hall tours. Guided hall tours were held in Blackburn Hall, Aston Hall, Dolson Hall and New Hall 4.

Each hall featured "scary" and "non-scary" tours so that all attendees could enjoy the tours. This year's tours also included visits to the Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Tau Kappa Epsilon houses who decorated for community members to visit.

The tradition of throwing open the college campus for four hours of trick or treating dates back 16 years and has become one of Millikin's most popular community outreach efforts.

"Millikin takes pride in working with the community," said Nicole DeLiberis, Millikin residential communities coordinator. "We like to bring people here to our campus to see our college students and to give them something fun to do on Halloween weekend."
