Lexy Bieber, a senior vocal music education major from South Elgin, Ill., is a member of the Millikin University Choir and Tudor Voices, a premiere ensemble for early choral music performing a capella as well as with instruments.
"Being a part of University Choir is really demanding," Bieber said. "We have a concert every two weeks and every rehearsal is all about getting ready for the next performance which is really exciting. We have a lot of music education majors in Tudor Voices because we want to get exposed to earlier music."
Bieber says she most likely wants to become a high school choir director and is certified in K-12th grade music.
"I really enjoy choral music and hopefully I'll be teaching it at the high school level," Bieber said. "I'll eventually be continuing my education, earning a master's or doctorate."
Bieber added, "Getting involved at Millikin University has given me a lot of leadership opportunities which has made me more confident in all aspects of my education."
