Trevor Stout, a sophomore at Millikin University, recently became a trumpet performance major and is engaging in opportunities to perform with ensembles and record in the studio.
Stout is currently in four ensembles within Millikin's School of Music, including the wind ensemble, jazz band and brass quintet.
The Decatur, Ill., native is amazed by the talent in the School of Music as well as Millikin's College of Fine Arts.
"My big dream is to play for some kind of pit orchestra perhaps for a Broadway show," said Stout. "I also hope to play in a professional orchestra or jazz band. There are many opportunities."
Stout added, "I like to call Millikin my home away from home that's still in my home, since I'm from Decatur. Millikin is a place that has nurtured me and everybody wants me to succeed."
