The Perkinson Music Center, home to Millikin University's School of Music, was built in 1911. The building underwent renovations in 2000, doubling in size and providing additional space for practice areas, classrooms and studios. The center is also home to Millikin's recording studio, Millitrax.

Millitrax Recording Studio consists of two studios, analog and digital. Studio A includes a large tracking room, isolation room, control room and machine room. Studio B features the mixing room with a digital console.

Millitrax

Millitrax is an important aspect of Millikin's student-operated recording companies, First Step Records and Blue Box Records. First Step Records is a student-operated record label and publishing company providing hands-on experiences in the business of music. Blue Box Records, an extension of First Step Records, is an expanded hub for commercial music ventures.

Millitrax provides many great opportunities for students to not only record music, but to learn the ins and outs of producing and studio engineering.

In the following video, take a 360-degree tour of Millitrax with Dan Koffman, a junior commercial music major and studio manager of Millitrax. Through this virtual experience you will see inside Millikin's state-of-the-art recording studio and audio lab.
