Blaine Buente

Blaine Buente, a junior mathematics actuarial science major from Troy, Ill., has put together a successful year on the golf course for the Big Blue. Buente not only won the individual championship at the 2016 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Golf Championships, but he was recently named to the NCAA Division III PING All-Region Team, Central Region, for the second straight season.

In 2015-16, Buente had five tournament victories and set a new Millikin record for lowest season scoring average of 72.90. Buente had Millikin's second lowest all-time 18-hole round with a six under 66 to win the Elmhurst College Spring Invitational.

Buente shot a one over par 73 in the final round of the CCIW Championships to finish with a four round total of 284 (-4) and was a four shot winner over Matt Meneghitti of Carthage (288).

The difference between first and the field wasn't just mental according to Buente, but also a small change in his swing.
